Racial discrimination is the most common problem that a child can face at his school or college. As per the rules and regulations of the schools, education is equal for one and all. Racial abuse and violence should never be perpetuated inside or outside the school premises. Any kind of racial discrimination against the child or the parent should be immediately brought to the notice of the head teacher and other teaching staff. Every school contains a Department of Education and skills specialized in dealing with such types of problems.
If the school administration is ineffective in controlling the menace, the problem can be reported either to the school governors or local education authority. Racial abuse is strictly condemned as per the laws of the local education authority. Advice on the issue could also be obtained from the Commission for racial equality, local racial equality council or the Advisory Center for Education.
Apart from students, school authorities do also involve in racial disparity. Discrimination is usually observed between whites and pupils of other ethnic origin in terms of achievement test scores, grades and suspension rates. Filing a lawsuit is the best means to get proper justice. There is an increased incidence of people and organizations filing lawsuits against various schools, colleges and local education authorities criticizing their discriminating approach towards minority students.
