What Makes A Law Constitutional ?

The body that looks after the constitutional part of law in the United States is called the United States Law Constitutional. The Constitution is considered as the supreme law of the country. This body regulates and defines the legal authority of the government in respect to the prerogative of the Constitution and the law abiding citizens.

The scope and applications of the laws related to the federal institutions and state governments along with their corresponding relationships are all part of this body. As is common knowledge, the decisions of the US Supreme Court regarding the laws pertaining to federal and state governments are final. Even the lower courts in the federal system have to abide by the decision.

The state governments have certain rights that they can only enact and empower to the legislature which includes certain law making authorities. However, if the need arises, these can be overruled by a veto by the President. Again, this power of veto can be overridden by a majority vote in the Senate. The Constitution endows the President with three options, the bill in hand, and ten days of time to take a decision on it. If at the end of those ten days he fails to take an action, the bill does not become a law.

The Supreme Court of the United States has had its stand for a long time in the matter of declaring state or federal power of legislation as unconstitutional. At this point, one wonders what really makes a law constitutional. The only answer here is that it rests with the United States Law Constitutional. The verdict of this body can make or break the extent of legislation a law.
