It gives the citizens of a free nation the total peace and harmony that comes with being a free citizen. A person can rest easy in his own house knowing that at no time can anyone, even in the name of the law, break into his house and seize him without a good reason.  People are therefore, protected from the government itself.

It prevents a person to be held for crimes unless by an indictment of a Grand Jury. It is a man’s basic right to walk free unless proven guilty. His property is also safe guarded, and cannot be taken for public use without proper compensation being given.

This is by far a few of the human rights as protected by the Bill of Rights.

Now imagine a world where a Bill of Law is not passed. Think of a time when a person could be put into prison simply for voicing discontent against his master. Today, one cannot conceive an era devoid of basic decency, and that is what the Bill has brought forth -- a decent world for people to live in.

The Bill of Rights also served to reconstruct the government. It was not a one day process, but a gradual molding which took place over the years. In fact, the government can pass acts and regulations to protect human rights even now according to the changing trends.
